Around this time of the year during citrus season, I religiously wait for blood oranges. We regularly squeeze fresh juice for breakfast and occasionally mix mimosas with this bright vibrant fruit. This weekend while it’s still cold outside, I made some blood orange margaritas as a end to our relaxing weekend. It definitely brought back memories of our Mexican vacation. Here is how to prepare it:
- 3 oz fresh Blood Orange Juice
- 2 oz Tequila
- 1 oz Triple Sec
- Agave nectar
1. Rub the rim of an old fashioned glass with an edge of a blood orange slice. Swirl the rim through kosher salt
2. Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker, add ice and shake for 15 seconds.
3. Put a few cubes of ice in your glass. Strain the cocktail into the glass and enjoy.
